After an 11-year-long journey together, singer-rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh, or Hirdesh Singh, and his wife Shalini Talwar have officially parted ways as a Delhi court granted them a divorce. The legal process concluded with Family Court Principal Judge Paramjit Singh approving the second motion in their case after over two and a half years of legal proceedings.
The divorce between Shalini Talwar and Yo Yo Honey Singh was finalized by a Delhi court recently. Renowned musician Yo Yo Honey Singh and his wife Shalini Talwar decided to end their nearly 11-year marriage, with the divorce being granted on November 7. During the court session, the judge inquired if there was any intention of reconciliation between Singh and his wife, to which Singh stated outright that there was no possibility of reconciliation.
Principal Judge Paramjit Singh of the Family Court issued the divorce decree after both parties reached a consensual settlement, resolving all their disputes. Notably, Shalini Talwar had filed a domestic abuse lawsuit against the singer and his family in 2021. Following the settlement, Singh’s wife withdrew the domestic abuse case, which had accused him and his family of violent behavior. She also highlighted the musician’s history of resorting to threats and aggression against those who disagreed with him.
Honey Singh and Shalini Talwar, who were childhood sweethearts, tied the knot on January 23, 2011. However, in 2021, Talwar accused Honey Singh of domestic abuse and alleged an extramarital affair in a legal filing under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act. Singh countered these claims, denouncing them as baseless and malicious.
For further insights into the situation, Honey Singh shared his perspective and response to the allegations on his Instagram post, expressing distress over the accusations. In a lengthy note, he addressed the allegations as “malicious” and thanked his fans for their unwavering support and love for his music.
